ASA Preparing RFQ for Internet Access and Data Transmission Services

Alabama Supercomputer Authority (ASA) is currently preparing a Request for Proposal (RFP) for Internet Access and Data Transmission Services.

Below are answers to questions we have received in the past few weeks.

1. Where will the RFP be posted?  Alabama Buys www.alabamabuys.gov
2. When will the RFP be posted?  The posting date has not yet been finalized. Please check www.alabamabuys.gov periodically for updates. In addition, an announcement will be posted on the Alabama Supercomputer Authority’s website at www.asc.edu
3. Do I have to register as a supplier in Alabama Buys to submit a proposal against the RFP? Yes
4. Who do I contact if I need assistance registering in Alabama Buys?  The Alabama Buys Help Desk at 334-353-0700
5. Is this RFP a renewal of existing services already in place with GDIT today? This RFP will not be for renewal of existing services. More information will be available in the RFP.
6. Will I need to obtain a Service Provider Identification Number (SPIN) to submit a proposal in response to the RFP? It is recommended but not required at the time of submittal.
