ASA Selects a Chief Executive Officer
Mr. John M. Wade was appointed by the Board of Directors on November 8th as the new CEO for the Alabama Supercomputer Authority. Mr. Wade assumed the duties of CEO the first of December.
Mr. Wade leaves the Tallahassee area where he served as the Executive Director of the State of Florida - Southwood Shared Resource Center (SSRC) from November 2008. Mr. Wade is no stranger to Alabama as he worked in Birmingham from April 2003 to November 2008 in two different positions. He was the Manager, Information Technology, for the Birmingham Water Works Board and also served as the Director, Information Management Services, City of Birmingham. From April 1981 to April 2003, Mr. Wade served in various management positions in different parts of California. His degrees include a Masters of Public and Private Management from Birmingham-Southern College, 2007, and a BS in Business Management/Management Information Systems from the University of LaVerne, CA, 1986.
Mr. Wade and his wife, Nancy, have 7 adult children in their blended family. They have 12 grandchildren living in 5 different states (CA, FL, GA, NJ, SC).
The ASA staff welcomes Mr. Wade as its new CEO and looks forward to his leadership.
