Public Records Request Suggestions

If you don’t know the name of the record you are requesting, describe the information you believe is contained in the record. Provide as much detail as possible to narrow your search results.
Before making a request, look to see if the information in which you are interested is already publicly available on the Department’s website at https://www.asc.edu.
Keep your request simple. Simple requests are typically more targeted and seek fewer pages of records.
Complex requests typically seek a high volume of material, have broad search terms, or require additional steps to process, such as the need to search in multiple locations.
Your request will be processed in the order it was received and within the timeframes established in Governor Ivey’s Executive Order No. 734 (Jan. 26, 2023). The Department does not expedite requests.
A public records request is NOT required for material available on the Department’s website.
